Course Description

PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD
The person credited with this unit standard is able to explain the circumstances under which compensation may be claimed and the nature and degree for which it may awarded. Learners will also be able to explain the investigation process as well the procedures for submission and finalisation of compensation claims. Learners will also be able to complete the Compensation Commissioners documentation and keep records thereof.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
Providing an overview of current, relevant legislation pertaining to compensation for occupational injuries and diseases.
Describing the compensation procedure for occupational injuries and diseases.
Completing Compensation Commissioner documentation for occupational injuries and diseases.

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Communication at NQF Level 1 or equivalent.
Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1 or equivalent.
